Our History

From our humble beginnings in a tiny 2-car garage, nestled in the foothills of Stockbridge Valley in upstate New York...

...PRECISION, has grown to be an industry leader in Wire Payoff Technology, and has come to be a name synonymous with quality, service and affordability.

In the beginning...

That garage was small, cold and in the middle of nowhere...We didn't own a forklift, so we unloaded steel by hand, and built machinery with used bolts and a second-hand welder. But we made it work. We HAD to make it work.

Several snowy winters later, after outgrowing our humble home, we leased a much roomier manufacturing space in a building at the Center Street Industrial Park in Canastota, New York, and took our fledgeling business there.

We soon outgrew that space, and relocated our entire operation to an even larger, modern facility in nearby Oneida.

Our headquarters, as well as our Technology, Research & Development division, Precision Payoff Systems, remain there to this day.

As our business grew, so did our space needs. So, in 2007, we expanded by not only re-occupying our previous space at the Center Street Industrial Park, but had an opportunity to purchase the entire complex - so we did!

We expanded operations, and moved the Reels Division there.

Founded by the Webb Family, (Left to right) George II, Tim and George Sr., we have over 100 combined years of experience, and have serviced the wire industry for over 50 years.

One of the first Precision flyer payoffs

From the beginning, we have been innovators in the world of wire manufacturing process equipment.

Our senior founder, George Webb, Sr., was responsible for installing the first multiwire setup in the US, at nearby Owl Wire & Cable in Canastota, New York.

It is our knowledge of the industry, and understanding of the process that has allowed us to develop and improve our products and services through the years.

These include Flyer Payoffs, Tension Equalizers, Pallets and Skids, and a complete line of Reel Refurbishing services.

Today, our two divisions, PRECISION Payoff and PRECISION Reel Straightening occupy two locations, and our products can be found in hundreds of factories and wire mills in places all over the world including Canada, Mexico, Chile, Germany and Africa.

Below is just a small sampling of some of our wire flyer payoff installations around the world:

Centrally located in the heart of New York State, our Oneida facility is less than five miles away from the Turning Stone Casino and Resort and our Canastota Facility is two minutes from the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

Our close proximity to the New York State Thruway (I-90) and I-81 allows us to ship product efficiently and accurately with ease.
